How to move the MySQL database to the D: drive

How to move the MySQL database to the D: drive

  1. On the Printer Installer host server, open the Services console (Start > Administrative Tools > Services) and stop the MySQL55 service.
  2. Open C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\my.ini with Notepad and find the entry labeled:“datadir=C:/Program Files/MySQL/MySQL Server 5.5/Data/”, and modify it to the new location. For example: “datadir=D:/PrinterInstallerDatabase/Data/”
Note: The / is the correct slash to use. If you copied the entry line from this document delete the quotes (“) and retype them. This is necessary because the quote marks on this document are not the correct format.
  3. Save the my.ini file.
  4. Create the D:\PrinterInstallerDatabase folder. Do not create the Data sub folder.
  5. Copy the C:\Program Files\MySQL\MySQL Server 5.5\Data folder into the D:\PrinterInstallerDatabase folder.
  6. Start the MySQL55 service
