End users use the web based Printer Install Portal to self-install Direct IP (TCP/IP) or Windows shared printers.
Accessing the Portal:
There are three ways to access the portal:
Open a browser and go to the Printer Install Portal URL: http://YourWebServerURL/
Click Start, All Programs, Printer Installer, Add Printer. The Printer Install Portal will open in the default browser.
Click the Printer Installer system tray icon and select Add Printer. The Printer Install Portal will open in the default browser.
Installing Printers with the Portal
Use one of the below options to find a printer object in the tree. Click on the printer to install it.
Use the Search Feature:
Click in the search feature and type in a printer name, location, comment, or folder name. The search results will be displayed below the search box. Click on a printer to install the printer.
Browse the Tree:
Browse the folders in the tree to find a printer object in the tree and then click on the printer to install it.
