Printer is not publishing to the correct folder

Problem:

After creating a Windows Print Server Link, one of the printers on the Windows print server is being published, but not published to the folder of the matching IP address range object.
Note: If the printer is not published in the Administrator, click here for troubleshooting steps.

Solutions:

  1. Check the printer's port value to make sure it is correct.  If it is a dns value, copy it, and from the print server, do a nslookup to make sure it resolves to the proper IP address.  If the value was incorrect, delete the printer from the Administrator, and then on the print server, right click the Printer Installer Client system tray icon and click refresh.  The printer will then be published to the correct folder.
  2. Check the IP address range object to verify the IP address of the printer really is in the range. If the value was incorrect, delete the printer from the Administrator, and then on the print server, right click the Printer Installer Client system tray icon and click refresh.  The printer will then be published to the correct folder.
  3. Search for the printer from within the Administrator.  Does the printer show up under a different IP address range?
