iOS Printing with a .local Domain

If your domain ends in .local, certain versions of iOS, including iOS 7 and iOS 9, may not work properly with PrinterLogic's mobile printing solution. Here are instructions on how you can work around this issue.

  1. Add a new zone to your DNS server called [yourdomain].mobile, where [yourdomain] is your actual domain name:
    1. Right click on "Forward look-up zones" and select Create New Zone.
    2. Keep the default settings in the setup wizard.
    3. When prompted for the domain name, use [yourdomain].mobile as specified above.

You should now have a new .mobile domain at the same level as your existing domain. Now follow the instructions in the main iOS setup guide, using the .mobile domain instead of your primary .local domain.
